About Me

Hello there. I'm a 17 year old high school student living on the west coast of the U.S. It's not something I'm proud of, but I'm the kind of person that gets crazy obsessive over tons of things and most of the time, I move on when I get a little bored of it. That said, I love music, movies, and of course, reading. I can't believe how many people there are in the world that DON'T like to read! My brothers are included. Laaaame. Books are brainpower, you know. Also, many major motion pictures are based off of the books, the latter which, is usually MUCH better. I still like movies though, 'cuz most of the time there are pretty/cute/handsome actors that I can just drool over throughout the course of 2 hours. Half the time I watch movies 'cuz a certain actor's in it or something like that. *le sigh* I know, I'm vain, but hey, the actors I like have the qualities I'm looking for in a guy so there's a clue for you! ^^

Musicwise, I can listen to pretty much anything. Except country. It's the ONLY musical genre I can't stand. My dad listens to it all the time, and that's when my iPod comes in handy! Popwise, I like ... well, I don't know what pop artists I like. =/ It's not my forte even though it's all over the place. I CAN tell you though, that I HATE Britney Spears. Aren't you glad? I was listening to "Lucky" the other day at my aunt's house and BLEGH! Ahem. Anyway ... rockwise, I like EVERYTHING. Rock is number one on my charts 'cuz I'm in a few bands. I totally understand it and it totally understands me. I can play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and I'm a good digital mixer/master but the only thing I haven't tried is singing. I think I've got shite for a voice though. Haha, I remember though, earlier last year, my mom was pissing me off REALLY bad and I joined a guy band as the vocalist just to get away from the house. Gotta say they were diggin' the Asian genderbender as their singer. xD

Ah, books are my lovelies. If you don't know, I'm very fascinated by history and the men and women that forged it. Books are various resources you can use to find out more about the past! Oh, and I especially love historical fiction. It may not have been actual fact, but time, places, and settings are based upon reality, so there's a lot of adventure to be had with fictional characters. Three book series to read if you like the Napoleonic Era. The Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian. The Hornblower series by C.S. Forester. And the Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell. Lately, at the bookstore, I also picked up Nelson's Trafalgar: The Battle That Changed the World by Roy Adkins, Men-Of-War: Life in Nelson's Navy by POB, and The World of Jack Aubrey: Twelve-pounders, Frigates, Cutlasses, and Insignia of His Majesty's Royal Navy by David Miller. Phew ... I'ma go digging around the vintage apparel market this weekend for a sturdy bicorn (the cocked hat the officers wear). XD

Ooh movies! I LOVE movies. I was thinking of joining the film club this year, but my schedule was too busy so I couldn't. T.T Joined the Harry Potter club instead, though. :D Movies are my thing. I always end up spending my paychecks every two weeks on movies and DVDs. I like having marathons. Today, I had a Lord of the Rings marathon and it REALLY rekindled my love for it (as you can see, all of my userpics are LOTR related). I tried to learn one of the Elvish dialects last year but it was kinda difficult for me 'cuz there's not real course in my area and it's made up. =/ Ever seen Kenneth Branagh as Sir Ernest Shackleton exploring the Antarctic? Well you should. He's GREAT in it. Again, another movie/series I haven't seen in a while. Hmm ... a favorite of mine. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Russell Crowe and Paul Bettany. SMASHING. Oooh! And James D'Arcy. And Edward Woodall. LOVE. Don't forget Billy Boyd. His "Frodo" comes out as "Froodo". ^0^
